Right?? 😅 I read a series that had me thinking she was in her late 30’s, the way she spoke hopelessly about marriage. It wasn’t until book 3 that I found out she was only 25!! 😁

They are super wholesome overall 🥰 even if they focus really hard on getting married quick (which I assume is very important to the Amish).

It’s interesting to me that there are so many Amish romance novels at the local Barnes & Noble. I just googled it and found “The first commercially successful Amish romance novel…was Beverly Lewis’ The Shunning, published in 1997 by Bethany House.”

I used to work at B&N and that’s how I discovered them 😊 Although I never saw an Amish person come in and buy any 🤔 1997 is relatively recent. Wow.

To me, I read them out of curiosity then kept reading them because they were wholesome. (Secular romance has too much “going on” before marriage 😐) That might be part of the Amish romance novel appeal 😊
